TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Tuesday, September 1st
Depart Toronto (YYZ) on our flight to Tel Aviv (TLV).

Day 2: Wednesday, September 2nd
We will arrive in Tel Aviv at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport where we will be met by our guide. We will drive to Jaffa for a brief tour of the ancient port. This is the city that the prophet Jonah ran to, and it’s also the location where Peter received a special vision on the rooftop of Simon the tanner.

Day 3: Thursday, September 3rd
Start the day by travelling north to Caesarea and explore a 2000-year-old theatre built by Herod the Great. Continue to Mount Carmel to visit a site that commemorates the showdown between Elijah and the false prophets of Baal. End the day by heading towards Nazareth to visit Kfar Kedem—a community that has been designed to recreate life during the time of Abraham. Here we will dress up in period-appropriate clothing, learn to make goat cheese, milk a goat, make your own pita, then finish by riding a donkey.

Day 4: Friday, September 4th
Enjoy a boat ride on the beautiful Sea of Galilee and see the area where Jesus spent most of His ministry. Continue to Capernaum and the Mount of Beatitudes. There will be an opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River (optional—$10 USD per person for towel and certificate).

Day 5: Saturday, September 5th
We head north to Caesarea Philippi mentioned in Matthew 16 where we will get our first taste of the Golan Heights. Visit the medieval Nimrod fortress perched on the Golan Heights with a spectacular view.

Day 6: Sunday, September 6th
We start heading south through the Jordan Valley. We will stop and explore the incredible archaeological ruins if the ancient city of Bet Shean. Pass by Jericho and the place where Joshua led the Israelites across the Jordan River. Continue to the Judean Desert for an incredible wilderness experience at Abraham’s Tent. Enjoy a biblical style lunch complete with a camel trek. End our day by arriving in Jerusalem.

Day 7: Monday, September 7th
Visit the Western Wall where you’ll have time to reflect and pray and then go underground, walking parallel to the ancient city wall through the Western Wall Tunnels. We’ll also visit the Pools of Bethesda. Take part in an active archeological project by sifting through 2000-year-old ruins!
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem

Day 8: Tuesday, September 8th
Visit a centre that teaches us how the blue dye for prayer shawls are extracted and how this process connects us to the story found in Mark 5. Continue to Masada—an amazing fortress built by King Herod. Travel to the Dead Sea for an opportunity to float in the saltiest body of water and the lowest point on our planet.

Day 9: Wednesday, September 9th
Start the day with a drive to the Mount of Olives for a spectacular view of the Old City. The vista includes a view of the southern steps of the Temple, the Temple Mount, the Eastern Gate, a 2000-year-old cemetery and the Kidron Valley. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane for a time of personal prayer and reflection. Conclude the day with a visit to the Garden Tomb where we celebrate communion together. Enjoy lunch and a time of shopping at the famous Ben Yehuda Street Pedestrian Market.

Day 10: Thursday, September 10th
Depart Tel Aviv and arrive in Toronto.
